Broneirion is set in the heart of mid Wales and has been owned by Girlguiding Cymru since 1947, so there seems no better place to stay for the Post-Annual Meeting Tour than in this beautiful Victorian House and picturesque grounds.
Staying for 4 nights, we’ve devised an itinerary that gives you plenty of time to make the most of Girlguiding Cymru’s Broneirion, as well as day trips to some of the area’s must-see sights, including Powis Castle and the seaside town Aberystwyth.
*Prices are per paying passenger and based on multi-bedded rooms and a minimum of 40 paying passengers.
Board the coach at your chosen hotel in Llandudno as we head for Broneirion, arriving in time for your evening meal
Enjoy a full morning at leisure to take advantage of the house and grounds of Girlguiding Cymru’s home.
You will start the afternoon with a visit to Abbey-Cwn-Hir, one of Wales’ finest examples of Victorian Gothic revival architecture. You’ll then enjoy a private guided tour of the house and estate by one of the family members who still live here.
Today you will spend time exploring Powis Castle, which began life as a medieval fortress and now houses many different items, including a superb collection of treasures from India. The world-famous gardens boast spectacular yew hedges and lavish herbaceous borders.
You’ll return to Broneirion in the late afternoon for your evening meal.
This morning it’s time for a day trip to the popular seaside town of Aberystwyth. Board the Vale of Rheidol Railway for a nostalgic journey through some of Wales’ most spectatular scenery. Enjoy free time in Aberystwyth to visit one of its many attractions, including the harbour, pier, castle and the longest electric cliff railway in Britain. Return to Broneirion for an evening meal.
After breakfast, it’s time to head back to Llandudno where our tour comes to an end, and own onward travel arrangements must be made.
Broneirion is owned by Girlguiding Cymru and offers the ideal group accommodation. There are ample shared bathroom facilities and all rooms furnished to a high standard with bedding and towels included. The elegant drawing room with piano and open fire is perfect for relaxation, not forgetting the Library & the Billiard Room. The beautiful grounds offer several lawned areas, plus a wooded bank with paths as well as a camp fire circle.
I have always enjoyed Venture Abroad’s holidays. So much detail in the paper work so we know what we are doing each day.Betty Gosling, Walton-on-Thames Trefoil Guild
