Day 2 and the much anticipated Annual Meeting was on high on everyone’s agenda.

Would there really be the numbers in attendance that had been reported earlier?! Time would tell…

First stop for many was the guided walking tour of Derry/Londonderry. Coats on, layered up we started our tour in the safe hands of our extremely  engaging and  knowledgeable guide.

On a light note, the weather really was extreme but these ladies are made of stern stuff. A spattering of sleet, torrential rain and gale force winds weren’t going to stop any of us learning about the rich, diverse and somewhat controversial history of this city of many names. Derry/Londonderry has many a tale to tell; our guide most certainly did the city justice.

I was eager, as were all, to make my way to the Annual Meeting – I really didn’t know what to expect. Imagine my surprise when hundreds of women of the Trefoil Guild came through the doors. Seeing some thousand women from across the country (as well as the world) was a sight to behold. Meeting old friends, chatting with new, the Trefoil Guild had succeeded in bringing together a momentous amount of women in what can only be called a ‘mammoth meeting!’

I wholeheartedly agree with the fact that more people need to know about the Trefoil Guild, how it opens up new opportunities and most importantly, friendships. Days out planned tomorrow , entertainment courtesy of Venture Abroad…this weekend I’m sure could just keep getting better!
