A big welcome to our last two groups in Adelboden for this season, 1st West Bromwich and Frome Valley Guides! Both groups arrived into Adelboden on Saturday and were keen to get exploring!
1st West Bromwich had a busy Sunday; visiting Our Chalet and later in the afternoon swinging from the zip wires at Adventure Park Rehärti. Meanwhile, Frome Valley decided to take the day to relax and prepare themselves for the busy week ahead!
On Monday, both groups decided to head up to Adelboden village and take a look around the many souvenir shops. 1st West Bromwich then took a trip on the Tschentenalp cable car; the cable car takes you 680m above the Adelboden high street and provides amazing views over the Engstligen Valley, the Gross Lohner, the Wildstrubel and even as far as the Wildhorn!
Frome Valley Guides spent the afternoon hiking over to Cholerenschlucht Gorge and the Woodcarver’s.
Today saw 1st West Bromwich hike to the beautiful Engstligen Falls and enjoy a picnic lunch at the foot of the falls, before taking advantage of the sunny day to take a trip to the swimming pool.
Frome Valley spent the day in Interlaken; the Guides took a boat trip across the lovely Lake Thun – in other news, I think Venture Abroad groups are single-handedly keeping the ice cream shop at Spiez dock in business!
Whilst in Interlaken, some of the group decided to take the funicular up to Harder Kulm. The viewing platform at Harder Kulm is 1,322m above sea level and boasts amazing views of Lake Brienz and Lake Thun, the Eiger, the Mönch, and the Jungfrau! What a place to enjoy your lunch! The group finished the day off at the Chocolate Show, by which time, it was time to head home.
These two groups have got a busy week ahead, looking forward to seeing what they get up to!
