6am on Thursday morning and we arrived at Rayburn House, packed the last few things into the car and settled in for our trip down to Dover. Ken, Katie, Joanna and I are heading out to meet and greet the groups and ensure that their Disneyland© Paris weekend breaks runs as smoothly as possible. The good news – the snow had stopped and the roads were clear!
After a smooth trip down to Dover we caught the ferry across to Calais as planned. I am not going to lie, it was cold out in the middle of the Channel and I am not sure it is much warmer on land so I am glad I packed my thermals! We arrived in Calais and were met by bright blue skies on a crisp Thursday afternoon. There was snow out in the fields, but again the roads were clear and it made for a pleasant drive to Disneyland© Paris.
It’s Friday morning and the preparation begins. We will spend the morning making sure all of the rooms are ready for our arrivals later today and going over the last minute itinerary for our reps to make sure everyone is in the right place at the right time. This is my seventh year of organising Disney January Weekend Breaks so I am confident that everything is in order. Plus, I have Ken by my side who has been there for every trip since the very first Disney weekend 13 years ago! We definitely have experience on our side!
We will get back to the preparations and look forward to welcoming our first group later today! Check back soon for further updates.
Currently all travel plans for this weekend are running to schedule, however we will continue to monitor the weather for any disruptions and keep all groups notified of any changes
