4th Cheam build Olaf the Snowman on the Jungfrau!

Well what a busy few days it has been! Both groups have just left and are making their way back home after a busy and enjoyable few days.

Highlights for 4th Cheam Guides included building a snowman at the top of the Jungfrau, as well as taking the toboggan run at Kandersteg by a storm. The group also enjoyed a relaxing swim in the local pool and whizzed down zip-wires across a river valley at Adventure Park Rehärti. I’d also like to compliment the group on their camp fire singing last night- it was a pleasure to listen to!

The 2nd Paddock Wood Guides were also keeping busy, visiting the cheesemaker on top of the Engstligenalp, near the waterfall (despite the weather) and enjoying a tour of St Beatus’ Caves near Spiez after a boat trip, and then continuing onto Interlaken where we enjoyed the chocolate show. Some of the girls even got to try their hand at making the chocolates which they also enjoyed. Yesterday evening, the group made their way to the Hotel Alpina for a traditional Swiss evening, which included fondue and alphorns!

It has been a pleasure to work with these two groups, and I wish them a safe journey home! It is now time to welcome 1st Somercotes Guides and the 1st Barnsley Explorer Scout unit. Many exciting activities are planned!
