An absolutely amazing summer has rapidly come to an end with all the groups from the last six weeks having had a great time and some unbelievable experiences. All the groups have been awesome and have helped to create a fantastic and exciting atmosphere at KISC.
The last three groups left yesterday after ending the week with tonnes of activities to keep everybody occupied! 1st Camborne scouts took part in the beginners climbing course on Thursday having a fantastic time learning new skills and climbing some huge rocks. On Friday, they completed the Cheesery Hike walking up to 1800m where it was all made worth it by the fresh milk and cheese of course!
1st London Colney Scouts took on the challenge of the overnight hike to the Ueshinenhut getting to spend a night in the high alpine mountains. It was made even better by being in the midst of a proper continental storm, an experience that you would never forget! After walking down from the hut on Friday morning the scouts went for a swim in the pool practising their jumps, flips and dives!
10th York Guides finished their week with tobogganing on Thursday at Oeschinensee before a daring dip in the freezing glacial lake. It was a very early start on Friday as the guides made the coach and train journey to the Jungfrau! Even though the views were pretty terrible, everyone still had a good day and the walk down past the North face of the Eiger was apparently still as impressive as ever!
So that’s it then… a fantastic summer had by all and what I hope will be memories that will last a lifetime!!
Chris in Kandersteg signing out!
