Today I had a really awesome trip with the 1st Seer Green Scouts to Oeschinisee, the mountain-side glacier that melts into a lake during the summer. We began our trip up the mountain with a gondola ride, followed by a picturesque hike, making our way towards the lake. With the kids’ moral high on what was not an easy hike, we powered on, almost reaching the other side of the lake.

We returned towards the shore of the lake, the scouts rushing to get changed so they could submerge themselves in the (very!) cold water – tentatively followed by the leaders! There were screams, laughter and many more sounds as they first experienced the water.

After getting warm and filling up with a nice lunch, it was back into the water – this time in boats! A quick refuel from the ice cream stand following the boating adventure and our hike resumed back to get the gondola down the mountain. There was even time for everyone to have five rides on the Rhodelbahn which was super fun and thoroughly enjoyed by all!

That’s what I would call a very fun and successful day with the 1st Seer Green Scouts.
