The Guides will be pleased to know hiking boots can now be packed and legs rested after a final day of hills, mixed terrain and tumbles. With another 6 miles ‘clocked’ our highlights of the day was our visit to ‘Our Chalet’, where we finally did some proper guiding as we joined in the 82nd Birthday Celebration of ‘Our Chalet’. The ‘pinning’ ceremony was a first for all present, ‘clanger hat’ included. See official photo below.
We left ‘Our Chalet’ in bright sunshine as we made our way to Klettersteig waterfall, where many of the guides paddled in the ice cold waters of the river, before some scaled the incline adjacent to the waterfall.
What a motley crew!
After a week of late nights and early mornings ……the Guiders are on the edge!
The night ended with a BBQ and campfire songs as we reflected and celebrated a wonderful week in Switzerland and rejoiced in the many successes demonstrated by the guides. Some tears were shared as we said goodbye to 8 guides who move on to pastures new.
