At 9.15 this morning myself and Alyesbury network and explorers set off for the beach!
Leaving the rain behind in Zedelgem and After a short train journey we arrived to a white sandy beach and the sun.
whilst network set off to explore, the explorers first task was to get a shovel and dig a hole! Network returned shortly after with an octobike and off we set!

The explorers successfully managed to bury Richard and head off for a swim in the sea, whilst the adult sat down with a hot drink and lunch. Poor heather had her special wheat free sandwich snatched from her hand by a hungry seagull!
The Octobike not being enough the network group set off on go karts for a geocaching adventure through a park.

Then came the leaders boules competition (turns out I’m not that good at boules!)

And the explorer/network daily challenge : sand sculpting and I was the judge – too much pressure and not enough bribes!
We had mermaids…
A car…
A boat…
And a living room…
And the winners are………
The living room complete with fire place and shelves!
From the explorers :
today we took a trip to Ostende beach, travelling there we were a little optimistic about the weather but of course we were still up for a swim in the sea! As we all changed into our swimwear we were blessed with the sun! This encouraged even the ginger people to strip off their coats and jumpers. after a tanning session (wearing appropriate sun block of course!) we set about a burial and our heated sand sculpture competition. These included a car, mermaid and a convincing couch! Many of us treated ourselves to a traditional Belgian waffle or in some cases 3! When our fantastic day drew to a close we jumped on a double decker train to return to camp for a delicious chilli. Exhausted we retired to bed 30 min early and slept soundly!
