What a great few days we have had! It seems like ages since 445th Liverpool Guides stepped off that coach into the Swiss Alps, yet there is still so much to do!
On Sunday the girls relaxed by the pool, making the most of the weather and getting some training in for the hilly walk back to their chalet.
Despite the rain, we headed to Kandersteg yesterday, where the group had a look around Kandersteg International Scout Camp, and introduced themselves to the resident cat, who was enjoying a good nap.
After this we headed into the clouds (literally!) up on the cable car to Oeschinnensee, but due to bad weather we decided to see what we could see (not much) and head back to the valley and back to Adelboden. We managed a picture at the top though!
Today the rain persisted, but we were up bright and early to visit the Cheesemaker at the top of the Engstligenalp in Adelboden. It was fascinating to see how the cheese was made, and we all got a feel for alpine life. We got to try the cheese at different stages in the process, and then filled our pockets at the end, stocking up on souvenirs for home.
I couldn’t resist taking a photo and asking them all to say ‘cheeeessseee!’, and here it is:
After catching the cable car down the group headed into the village for some retail therapy and a relaxed afternoon.
Tomorrow we’re off to Interlaken on the boat for the chocolate show!
