78th Belfast scouts have had a cracking few days in the Kander valley and the surrounding mountains.
The activities have been flowing with the major activity being rafting on the Lutschine river. The river is fast flowing and situated below the Eiger and the Jungfrau! The rafting is rather extreme to say the least and the guys were full of chat about their day when they came back.
Yesterday some of the guys went on the three valleys overnight hike beginning with the hike up to the Ueschinenhutte on the first day before hiking up the Ueschinen valley and over to the top of the Gemmipass on the second day and although they were very tired they said it was a great activity.
Tomorrow, being the groups last day, is packed from start to finish! Starting early in the morning the Belfast scouts are getting the train to Bern to experience the Swiss capital’s sights and culture. This will include taking a trip to the bear park near the centre of the city before the chance to do some shopping (presumably for people back home and food!). This is followed in the evening by a meal down in the village to celebrate what has been a very successful and enjoyable camp for all involved!!
