Here at De Kluis, it has been one very busy week. Yesterday, 1st Fenstanton and Hilton Scouts and 1st Uddingston Explorers enjoyed a fun packed day at Walibi theme park, this time the Scouts favourite ride was Werewolf! I personally still love the rapids, fortunately we had the weather for it – it has been lovely sunshine the last couple of days. Lots of fun was had, lots of ice cream was eaten too, and everyone loved their final day having a blast at a theme park!
On Thursday, 1st Fenstanton and Hilton went to Brussels for the day, we went to Mini Europe, and had a lovely time exploring lots of different countries in 3 hours! Lots of leaders, deciding which city they want to visit next! Meanwhile 1st Uddingston Explorers, went mountain biking and biked to Leuven. They then went swimming, they loved it so much last Sunday, they went again!
On Wednesday, I accompanied 1st Uddingston Explorers to Ypres, where they were taken back by some of the things they saw at Sanctuary Wood, In Flanders Fields and Tyne Cot Cemetary. They proudly took part in the Last Post Ceremony, with the 3 Wreath Layers wearing their Scottish Kilts. Back at camp, 1st Fenstanton and Uddingston had a very chilled out day, involving a lot of sleeping! But also a campfire and cooking with Israeli Scouts which helped complete their international badge they are working towards
It has been a really lovely week in Belgium, I hope the two groups have made lots of new friends to keep in contact with. I have loved having both groups on site!
