Whilst the 3rd Waltham Abbey Scouts set off for a canal cruise and chocolate factory tour in Brugge, myself and the 3rd Stubbington guides headed for the capital. Managing to get an earlier train we arrived in Brussels bright and early at 9am and started the day with a traditional waffle, after a wonder around and a visit to see ‘peeing boy’ statue and learn its story; we headed for a metro (after a nosey in the shops) the metro turned into a memorable adventure itself but we arrived at Bruparc in time for lunch before spending the afternoon in the water park
Phoebe’s highlight of the day was seeing her leader rocket down the water slide – her leader Claire disagreed and much proffered the over 18’s section of the water park (jacuzzi and sauna) the girls visited Brussels Atomium and gathered round to sing to today’s birthday girl Tamara with a birthday ice cream. Happy 14th Birthday Tamara!!!!!!
The girls have all said what a fantastic time they are having but send their love to families!
What a day to remember! Off to Bruge tomorrow whilst the scouts are hitting the road on their mountain bikes to Loppem Castle.
