We caught up with our Venture Abroad Reps Hannah, Tessa and Colette after their recent visit to Disneyland Paris to find out what they enjoyed most about their visit.

Here are some of their favourite moments!

Disney Village

Hannah – “It’s a great place to wander after a busy day in the parks. There are so many restaurants to choose from and they play Disney songs out loud which I love – you can’t help but sing along.”

Tessa – “It’s great location for groups to re-unite and head out for some food or do some last minute souvenir shopping.”

Located right at the entrance to the parks, the Disney Village is a great place to use as a group meeting point, lunch stop or to simply pick up your souvenirs and Minnie Mouse ears.

Earl of Sandwich

Hannah – “They have amazing, hearty food which is much-needed after an exciting day in the parks. The staff are extremely efficient as well.”

Tessa – “The perfect meal after a fast-paced day in the parks.”

Located in the Disney Village opposite the hot air balloon on Lake Disney®, the Earl of Sandwich is Disney’s answer to Subway. Offering a great assortment of sandwiches, salads and soups there really is something for everyone. Chipotle Chicken Avocado wrap anyone?

Costumes and Characters

Hannah – “Who doesn’t love the princess dresses? It’s amazing how they’re always in character and really look the part… it just brings the magic alive for the children and they’re so believable!”

Tessa – “The fantastic costumes and props at Disney were so beautiful and unique, a real work of art! With everyone in character it made you feel as though you are on a live set!”

If you want to spend even more time admiring the costumes, getting selfies with the characters and collecting autographs, why not add a character breakfast on to your trip?

Illuminations

Hannah – “Everyone is in awe when the fireworks come bursting out from behind the castle, as well as when they change the lights and music to relate to the Disney movie.”

Tessa – “Only one word needed – spectacular!”

Ending the day with a bang, Disney’s spectacular illuminations celebrate classic and new Disney stories with fireworks, lasers and projections. Definitely one to add to the Disney bucket list – provided the parks haven’t tired you out first.

‘Frozen’ Parade

Hannah – “Everyone loves Frozen! Kristoff was walking behind the parade and talking to the children in character which was fab.”

Tessa – “Above and beyond all expectations. Every character was so engaging and made you feel like you’re on the real ‘Frozen’ set!”

New additions to the traditional Disney parade – see Anna, Elsa, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven as they add a little sparkle to the show.

Main Parade

Hannah – “Seeing all of the Disney characters come together on the parade and spotting which characters are from which films! The parades are always well planned and everyone is in character at every second.”

Tessa – “A highlight of the trip – it’s no wonder the crowds get so big!”

Another ‘must do’ when visiting Disneyland Paris is the Main Parade on Main Street U.S.A. Grab your camera, arrive early for the best views and enjoy the show.

The Children’s faces When Entering The Park

Hannah – “It reminds me of when I was a child and how I would get so excited over things. I know if I went to Disney as a child I would be exactly the same.”

Tessa – “It’s why trips to Disney are so worthwhile and memorable!”

A visit to Disney is a magical experience for children and adults alike – and we agree with Hannah. There’s nothing quite like seeing the huge smiles on the kids’ faces when they’re walking up the travelator, their excitement as they enter the park and see the iconic Sleeping Beauty Castle, and knowing they’ll be in the midst of creating memories that will last a lifetime. <3
