The 4th of August marked the 100 years since the start of the World War 1. With memorials going on all around the world, 85th Milton scouts made their way to Tyne cot cemetery two days later for another moving trip. One scout described it as a humbling experience and it had a huge impact on everyone there. It was a marked contrast from other days and a very thought provoking visit. From there we made our way to Ypres where we visited the Flanders Field Museum. This was again a very interactive and enlightening experience for all involved. After free time to explore Ypres then tea and the Menin Gate ceremony. The group met up with a the South Staffordshire branch of the British Legion, a fortuitous meeting as the group themselves are from Stafford! They marched in together and it was a truly memorable evening.
Also a big congrats to Emma, who became invested as a Cub that very evening!
