The Linslade Scouts have truly settled in during the last few days, getting stuck into their activities and meeting hundreds of scouts from all over the world!
Over the last three days the Explorers and Scouts have been hiking up to the Ueschinen Hut for an overnight adventure. The high alpine hut is the perfect setting for an overnight stay, with the groups walking up in the afternoon and heading back to KISC the next day. Apparently, card games and fires were in abundance and everyone seemed to enjoy the new experience.
On Tuesday the scouts that remained at the site went up to Oeschinensee on the gondola to take part in some adrenalin filled tobogganing. The winding, sleek course saw some of the scouts and leaders reach lightening speeds and the thrills were aplenty. A chilly dip in the alpine lake followed the striking views of the glaciers on the walk there.
Scout discos seem to be a very popular event with Wednesday night going down a treat. Cheesy moves, congas and glow sticks were all part of the fun and games and Alan’s glow stick beard was immense! The challenging hike over the Lotchenpass up to 2600m in the torrential rain awaited the explorers on Thursday, although they were all in extremely high spirits on arrival. Last day tomorrow and I’m sure they’ve had a massively exciting time this week!
