So, a great last few day to the penultimate week in Kandersteg!
On Thursday 1st Chalfont St Giles went up to Oeschinensee, they are my first group of the season to hike UP to the lake! They even took the steep route! So impressed!
Portsmouth Scouts spent Thursday on the climbing course at Winteregg which is a short walk away from the Sunnebuel cable car.

They started off learning the climbing basics, including how to tie themselves in and what commands to use to communicate between the climber and the belayer before starting off on an easy climb and progressing up to climbs which are much longer and harder.

The Explorers returned from their overnight hike through the three valleys. the weather was on their side (it’s been the best week of the season) and they got some amazing views over the mountains!

Today has been very water based with all the groups rafting!
Portsmouth Explorers and 1st Chalfont St Giles went rafting on the river Simme. Whilst some of Odiham went rafting on the river Aare and Lutschine.
Unfortunately there’s no photos of the rafting! It’s take a lot of concentration so even with a waterproof camera the guys didn’t get a chance for photos!
The Portsmouth Scouts spent the day at the high ropes monkeying around in the trees!

Tomorrow it’s time to say goodbye to the three groups and welcome my last two groups of the season! Can’t believe it’s come around so quickly! See you tomorrow Tempest Explorers and Bassetlaw District Scouts!
