KISC got a lot busier this weekend with the arrival of Pentland District Scouts. With half of them having arrived late on Friday night, they were still straight into a huge variety of activities on Saturday made even better by the glorious weather.
Some of the groups went to the high ropes adventure park further up the Kander valley from KISC to tackle the challenges high in the alpine forest, all of them saying it was fantastic!
Oeschinensee was another activity greatly enjoyed by those scouts who took part. There was more tobogganing fun on super zig-zagging course made even better by the stunning views of the village and the surrounding mountains. After a paddle in the glacial lake, the scouts then took a stroll down the steep mountainside back to the village.
The last group spent a day on site doing the solar power experience, scouting for boys and playing volleyball. The solar power experience run by the green peace team was apparently great fun, and the scouts loved it that much that they went back to play volleyball with them again later in the afternoon, while listening to music through speakers powered by the solar panels!
After a great first day the group are geared up for the week with plenty of activities planned including chocolate and cheese tours, overnight hikes, rafting and day trips to Interlaken.
