Yesterday morning I joined South Leicester Scout District for some fun in the trees, we caught the train to Interlaken and after a short walk we arrived at the high ropes course. The scouts (and leaders!) were given safety instructions and shown all the different routes they could take. The grasshopper being the lowest and the Eagle trail the highest. The bat and mountain goat seemed the more popular!
Today’s competition how many scouts can you spot in the trees?
all scouts had a go and enjoyed zipping and climbing through the trees, next it was time to walk to a local park for a picnic before heading back on the train for a cool down in Kandersteg pool!
You can’t deny these smiles! brilliant day!
2nd Market Drayton however visited Oeschinensee Lake in the mountains, this group are so hard-core they walked straight past the Gondola and up to the lake by foot with the jingling cows 🙂
Big well done to Ellie and Jack who completed a challenge towards the KISC badges and went for a swim in the lake!
Next they returned to their accommodation for dinner before the Kanderchallenge. First they chose teams; 2nd Market Drayton joined forces with the Stourport Senior Section Guides. First they completed a number of challenge set up around the campsite, the team made it back in good time ready for the final challenge. Who can make a hat that can hold water out of paper , paperclips and string. Fantastic well done to 2nd Market Drayton and Stouport Guides who came a very respectable 2nd out of 12 teams! and well done to Will for wearing the hat so well!
