Today we have had a relatively quiet day in camp. We spent this morning in the trees of De Kluis taking on the adventure ropes course. This was a real hit with the girls with many going around the course twice!
This was followed by walk into town to buy dinner and then a lazy afternoon spent in camp (except for the mad scramble from girls and boys alike when the ice cream van came round!)
We all enjoyed a hearty dinner cooked by Geoff, with many of the girls claiming it as their favourite meal of the week (sorry Leanne!)
We then spent a much noisier evening playing rounders with the scouts (in mixed teams this time!), and then proceeded to campfire singing led by the super star rangers, Beth & Lucy. Despite the boys many protests about being made to sing, we soon had them up dancing to ‘singing in the rain’ and they even learnt the actions to ‘edelweiss’.
We finished off the evening with delicious hot dogs cooked by Ian and followed up by a massive Victoria Sponge cooked by Rob, Steve & Barney – thank you all.
It has been fantastic to see the Guides and Scouts mixing so well together.
All the groups are now looking forward to our final day tomorrow which will be spent at Walibi Theme Park – most likely on the biggest roller coasters!
