Today is Dutch day here in Holland so the Scouts celebrated in true Dutch style by visiting the historic city of Utrecht and hiring some traditional Dutch bikes although not so traditional as these did have brakes and even a few gears! The Scouts got to cycle past the huge Dom Tower, the Cathedral, statues and of course all whilst weaving the canal which circles the city. Shops were visited especially the ice cream shop and the Lindt shop where loads of treats were brought! Some Scouts had a go at bowling (not so traditional but still loads of fun!) and then we saw a giant skittle walking the town – definitely a new photo opportunity! Overall a lovely way to enjoy the sunshine and celebrate the Dutch culture, don’t you think?
