It’s snow joke that Gloucestershire Guides love the snow! They’ve spent the past 4 days exploring everything snowy!  Day 1 was spent building their own snow palace in the form of igloo building.

This started by sawing blocks of snow and carrying them to the igloo point. As the time went on the guides worked in two groups to build layer upon layer of their igloos.

Surrounded by stunning views, with hard work and help from Albert and Sven, the guides’ igloos were complete!

Over the next two days, the guides took to the mountain for a snow survival day, snow walk and some cross country skiing.
Finally, today was the last day of snow fun with some sledging by the (now frozen) famous Oechinensee lake.

Tomorrow is World Thinking Day for Girlguiding and where better to celebrate than the World Guide Centre…. Our Chalet.
A perfect end to a perfect week in the snowy mountains #thecoldneverbotheredmeanyway
