This week the Swiss mountains are calling Girlguiding Ribble Valley Division, as they will be heading to Kandersteg International Scout Centre, the home of adventure and international friendship. The girls are all set for a fun-filled snowy adventure with an jam-packed itinerary including curling, igloo and snow cave building,  cross-country skiing, sledding and even a visit to Our Chalet on World Thinking Day.

The trip is all the more meaningful for the Guides as they have worked tirelessly to fundraise for this experience of a lifetime.

We hear from leader Harriet now that departure day has arrived.

Wow! The day is here! What an experience! Our final preparation has included copious cups of tea and a shout out on radio 2!

Here we are at the airport enjoying tea before hitting the shops. This sort of preparation is a treat after all our fundraising – our group has fundraised over £20,000 towards the trip costs.  We are very proud of all our members for their part in this – they’ve done fairs, car washing, cake sales, a steam train event, bag packing and lots more.

Now it’s time for fun!  We are looking forward to the flight and arriving to see KISC, home for the week.

Big thanks to everyone who has supported us getting here.
