Well what a couple of days I’ve had!

I’m currently sat in the centre at De Kluis after an afternoon of getting to know the local city of Leuven.

I arrived in De Kluis from Nottingham, via London and Brussels, in the early evening yesterday. The weather was wet, but that didn’t matter, in fact it was quite refreshing for the short walk from the station in Sint-Joris Weert. I had a quick whistlestop tour of the site with the guidance of Koenraad, which included walking past some high pitched tents (See Photo),  before getting some much needed sleep.

This morning I woke to a beautiful day and was quite glad that the weather had changed so I could explore the local surroundings in the dry! After re-pegging a couple of pegs, I headed for a short stroll around Sint-Jorris Weert and then hopped on the train into Leuven. Leuven is a really nice university town with a mixture of old and new buildings and certainly had a good feel to it. I stopped for a light picnic in a park after seeking out the tourist office and a few of the other sights.

The first two groups arrive tomorrow and I’m sure they’ll have a great time!
