The week is drawing to a close for our last two groups for this season, and what a week it’s been!
On Wednesday, West Bromwich opted for a chilled out day at leisure; it was much needed, considering all the hiking this group have been doing! Meanwhile, Frome Valley also had a chilled out day (but in a very different way!) ; the group headed up to the snowy Jungfraujoch, where the girls spent most of the day at the Snow Fun Park. They took the opportunity to do some snow tubing and have a go on the Flying Fox zip line. The leaders had their own fun relaxing in the sun with a hot chocolate!
On Thursday, West Bromwich hiked up to the Woodcarver’s via Cholerenschlucht Gorge and unfortunately got caught in a shower on the way back down; luckily, no one seemed to mind too much! Frome Valley spent the day in Kandersteg, opting to take the cable car up and enjoy everything the beautiful Oeschinensee has to offer! In the evening, they attended the traditional Swiss evening.
Friday saw West Bromwich spend the afternoon bowling in Adelboden village before attending the Swiss evening; can’t beat a bit of fondue and some Alphorns!
Frome Valley spent the day visiting Switzerland’s capital, Bern. After a little bit of sightseeing, including a trip to the city’s famous Bear Pit, the Guides set off on a city-wide scavenger hunt: prizes for the best picture of the famous medieval clock tower, the Zytglogge, and for the group who could find the city’s cheapest and most expensive souvenir, amongst other things!
Whilst Frome Valley Guides spent this morning at the Cheesemaker’s at Engstligenalp, today it is unfortunately time to say goodbye to 1st West Bromwich.
We hope you’ve had a wonderful week West Bromwich, it’s been a pleasure!
