We are all back safe and sound from a cold but fun weekend at Disneyland© Paris! Fortunately the snow didn’t cause too many problems and all of our groups had a great time.
1st Hanwell Brownies were the first group to arrive on Friday afternoon by Eurostar. They went straight back to the Disney village to start their magical adventure. The other groups arrived later on their coaches and the reps were on hand to make sure that everyone settled into their rooms. Our groups took up most of one block in the Hotel Cheyenne, which was very comfortable, even in the snow. 5th Stopsley Guides looked great in their matching VA hoodies, so they were easy to spot around the hotel and the park!
On Saturday morning, I was lucky enough to go with 1st Hanwell Brownies to the Character Breakfast. Mickey, Eeyore and Goofy all made an appearance, and Pluto even showed off his dance moves. Everyone got their photos taken with their favourite characters but I don’t know who was more excited – the leaders or the Brownies! Fortunately the snow didn’t close many of the rides, so everyone had a great time in the park. In the evening, most of our groups enjoyed a meal at Planet Hollywood, including a very yummy chocolate brownie for dessert – mmm! We stayed in the park with 1st Parkwood Guides and watched the “Disney Dreams” display. Pictures of the films, including Mary Poppins, Peter Pan and Aladdin, were shown on Cinderella’s Castle, with lots of lasers, fireworks and even fire in the background. It was amazing and got me singing along to all the songs!
We woke up on Sunday to a lot more snow, but our groups were determined to make the most of the day. 5th Rhyl Brownies had a great time at their Character Breakfast, before heading off home. 1st Parkwood Guides even had time to measure the snow before leaving the Davey Crockett Ranch – any guesses how deep it was? The snow meant that most of our groups decided to leave early, but they all made it home safe and sound.
Disney is magical whatever the weather, and we can’t wait to do it all again next weekend!
