20160619_192844We rise bright and early to a sunny morning after a somewhat late evening at our respective hotels. For us our destination for the day was Ripley Castle; somewhere most on the coach had not previously visited. After saying our farewells to our fantastic coach driver we all head out to discover the delights of Ripley Castle.

We entrust our time to our tour guides who continue to share the history of the castle and the Ingleby family who to this day are still in residence here… all of us trying to imagine what it would be like to live in a house like this ? Next stop lunch, where the grounds and restaurant were quickly taken over by a sea of Trefoil ladies – quite a scene I must say!

Food has without a doubt been the hot topic of conversation this weekend and today was certainly no exception to the rule as we all move on into the village to sample its famous ice-cream.

Today’s outing has been wonderful – mostly due to the fact that we all leave feeling more educated… and full ! Next stop… to celebrate everything that is red, white and blue at the Venture Abroad evening of entertainment!

A show fit for a queen !

Yes that’s exactly what the Venture Abroad team had planned for a few hundred of our ladies. Showtime 7.30pm, the venue The Holiday Inn. With ladies embracing the theme, there were tiaras, silly hats, lots of glamorous dresses, ¬†flags in abundance and most surprisingly a visit from the queen and Camilla themselves!!!!!!

The show was out of this world. ¬†Harrogate Male Voice singing a glorious and varied repertoire, Harrogate Scout and Guide gang show melting hearts with a remarkable array of talent and then Harrogate Brass Band showing off brass music at its best…

A perfect end to a memorable meeting of Trefoil friends from across the UK.

Thank you to all of you for making it so special. We look forward to seeing you again at your next annual meeting, or maybe even sooner!

Fond wishes from all the girls in the Venture Abroad team x
