Yesterday, I accompanied Maryculter Scouts on a day trip to the beautiful city of Bruges.
With the sun shining, we headed to the Markt of Bruge. Some of the scouts went off to do a spot of souvenir shopping whilst the leaders sat in the sun with a coffee! After making and eating sandwiches in the square (to the amusement of some of the public!), we visited the Choco Story.
Here we got a free bar of chocolate, a tour of the museum and a chocolate making demonstration to finish! After a bit more exploring, it was time to make our way back on the train (double decker this time!), back to camp to pick up some food for tea.
Today has been a completely different day! I was lucky enough to join St Eugenes Scouts on their trip into Brussels.
First off, we enjoyed a whistle stop tour around Europe at Mini Europe. There were reproductions of famous buildings from all over Europe and recreations of famous events throughout history. A personal favourite was the eruption of Mount Vesuvius and the shaking ground to simulate the earthquakes!
The afternoon saw the scouts make a splash at Oceada water park! I think we all had a lot of fun here. I can even proudly say that I had a go on ‘the Hurricane’, a slide of Olympic force, even if I was dragged on it by a few scouts!
