It’s safe to say I have had a fantastic and busy week with Bridgend Explorers and Network members.
The week began with the stunning views and cool waters of Lake Oechinensee and summer sledding. If that didn’t make them fall in love with the mountains their next activity would as they all set off on a two day overnight hit hike. Although they were faced with the challenges of rain, in true explorer style they did not let it dampen their experiences and all thoroughly enjoyed the challenge with their Pinkie guide.
Next it was time to visit Einstein and the bears in the beautiful capital city of Bern with culture and history completing the complementary Bern trail. Funnily enough they still had energy left for an adventurous activity day in Interlaken, splitting off to enjoy canyoning, white water rafting and high ropes. Did you think the fun stopped there? It didn’t. In Kandersteg, there’s always time for one more challenge. The Network group set off for the Via Ferrata, a traditional Swiss Alp climbing route, whilst others went for a better view of Lake Oechinensee with the high view cross line. The main group set off for the next town of Adelboden for some fast speed views on Trottie Bikes.
I’m sure you can all agree what an action packed week this has been with memories and experiences that will last a life time!
I wish Bridgend a safe trip back to Wales.
