Yesterday saw the warmest day of our trip and we were all thankful for that! A lie in was well deserved! Then to the bikes, having little knowledge of Dutch road rules we took to the paths and headed away from our campsite hoping to find something of interest, goodness knows what the locals thought of 27 people riding bikes in bright yellow tshirts!
The evening called for chili and rice followed by a visit from another Tynemouth scout leader over for work and a campfire! Needless to say we were rather loud!
A few tired faces this morning after the late night singing (the scouts had asked to finish with a rousing rendition of the national anthem!) however they soon jumped out of bed when the realised that after cereal was breakfast cake!! (Kindly donated by our visiting leader Phil) a little singing of happy birthday preceded a lot of sugar!
On the train next to the zoo! In the zoo we were able to walk on rope bridges inside (yes inside) some of the animal enclosures! By lunchtime I can assure you that none of them had been eaten however I left them after this so I can’t promise that they haven’t now.
They have all had a great time and are now looking forward to hugs (even if they won’t admit it) from their parents! We shall all see you on Sunday! Don’t forget 😉
There will be a chance to see all of our photos next week, more information to follow.
