So sadly the 1st playing place scouts week is coming to an end 🙁 but what a week! The international experience has been amazing! Many have swapped neckers and badges and met scouts from all over the world. Quite how serious this group is about badges became apparent to me as leaders sat sowing badges on at the swimming pool and swapping badge tactics over breakfast. But I felt very privileged to watch some of these badges being presented ……well done!!!
Yesterday morning more souvenirs were made during a craft session, including leather woggles, flag pins and more, with the sun beating down in the mountains….perfection!
Spot the home made souvenirs to match the smiles!
Another accomplishment of 1st playing place has been how much transport can we use in one week. We’ve had car, coach, train, boat, foot, gondola, funicular, summer sledding and plane…..some of the transport was more conventional than others!
After a beautiful afternoon diving in the pool, the group joined many other scouts for challenges around the world.
Today has been just as busy with a gondola up the mountain for some summer sledding.
Even the leaders had time for a go!
Treck back down the mountain to prepare for tonight’s international campfire…..but what will they sing? Look out for the next campfire blog!
