It’s been a busy few days here; I’ve found myself back in the Bernese Oberland, in the little mountain village of Adelboden, which will soon play host to some of our wonderful groups over the course of the summer!

I’ve been busy reacquainting myself with the magnificent mountains, stunning streams and the familiar faces that come with them. Not forgetting the many steep and winding mountain paths carved into the valley! You can tell that everyone is getting ready for the busy summer season here in the village: the town is bustling and eagerly awaiting the influx of tourists, and in our case, lovely Guide groups!

On Saturday I was joined by our first group of the summer, Trefoil Guild 13 all the way from Dundee, who arrived in high spirits and ready for their fun-filled week! Yesterday we headed out on a wander through Adelboden village, where by chance we managed to catch the end of the Gaukler, or Street Artist, Festival. The street was buzzing with performances from clowns, jugglers, slack-rope artists, musicians, magicians and more! Today the group are hiking to the beautiful Engstligenfälle, where they are taking the cable car up to the top of Engstligenalp for lunch with a view.

I’ll keep you all updated over the course of the week on all the fantastic activities that this group have planned!
