Well what a few days it has been! Friday evening saw the arrival of Berwickshire Guides and they seem to be settling in to their chalet accommodation just fine- the hills may take a bit longer to get used to! We rose early for a visit to the Trummer wood carver’s on Saturday and the girls coped very well with the hike there and back, and were delighted with the personalised woggles they had ordered. After lunch back at the chalet some of the group went to Adelboden high street to browse the shops and watch live street performances. The water fight that followed outside the church was great fun too! Today we went swimming in the Panorama Schwimmbad in the village and after lunch headed up to the WAGGGS centre Our Chalet, where the girls had a tour and exchanged badges in the swap room. After that the guides stood under the flag pole and a Baden Powell award was given to Rosie and a new guide made her promise on the iconic steps where a photo is traditional. Tomorrow we head up to the highest railway station in Europe at the Jungfraujoch and have visits to Kandersteg and Interlaken planned, as well as a boat trip!
