At Venture Abroad, we’re prepping for the sunshine and with only a couple of months to go until groups head off on their summer adventures, we are delighted to introduce the Venture Abroad Representatives that will be joining them!

We’re thrilled to welcome new VA Reps, Lewis, Hannah and Holly to the team and to welcome back seasoned VA Reps, Ellie, Sara Jayne and Kate!

Based in Belgium, Switzerland and the Netherlands, each of our Reps will be on-site to welcome groups to their accommodation and support them throughout their stay.

So without further ado, VA Reps, it’s over to you!

HannahHannah Campbell

Hi! My name is Hannah and I’m the Venture Abroad representative based in the Netherlands. As a student of the language, I’m a huge fan of all things Dutch and I’m always excited at the prospect of sharing that enthusiasm with others!

Alongside language learning, I’m a keen walker and enjoy writing articles for my Uni’s newspaper. I’m always up for a good chat and am happy to help with any problems you might have!

De Kluis, Belgium

Hi all! My name is Holly. I have been a member of Girlguiding since I was six and currently volunteer with Brownies, Guides and Senior Section. I am also an Assistant Beaver Leader and have been for the past 4 years. I absolutely love Guiding and Scouting and all the fantastic opportunities it brings!

I have also been incredibly lucky to volunteer at Sangam, India, one of the WAGGGS World Centres.

I love to travel and go on coastal walks. Even better if I can combine the two , and if not out exploring, I can quite often be found behind my sewing machine or working on a crochet project!

Kandersteg, Switzerland

Hi, I’m Lewis. I love being outdoors and getting stuck into new challenges – trekking and cycling are a couple of my favourite things to do! Whenever I’m active, there are always opportunities to meet new and interesting people and to see amazing things. I love to push myself and really enjoy working in groups and overcoming challenges.

“Active, talkative and ginger” – that’s how I would describe myself in three words. I love the outdoors; anything to do with the outdoors, but in particular rock climbing. My time as a Sea Scout only fuelled my love of the outdoors and I have been able to pass on that excitement as a leader of a Scout Troop in Walsall.

I am most looking forward to meeting all the groups who are finally on their long awaited group holiday and, of course, exploring the mountains.

“Bubbly and friendly” is how I like to think my friends would describe me! I have always been involved in Scouting and Guiding, in my adult years as a Guide leader, Brown Owl, Scout Leader, and helping out with Beavers and Explorers.

I took 20 of my Scouts and explorers to Belgium in summer 2012 and look forward to getting back out there and helping other groups have an amazing time.

Adelboden, Switzerland

I’m Ellie and I am the VA Adelboden Rep for this summer. I’m no stranger to Switzerland as I spent the summer working there for VA two years ago so I’m excited to go back and meet more guiding groups! The area has so much to offer and the mountains are breathtaking!

I’m about to graduate from The University of Sheffield with a languages degree in German, French and Dutch. My favourite way to spend my free time is playing sport- rugby and running are my favourite things to do!
