Today has seen all 42 of us (Scouts & Guides) head to Leuven to go swimming & bowling.
Not too much of an early start meant that everyone was in pretty good spirits and up on time for a breakfast of sausage or bacon rolls. After this we set off to the train station (thankfully a walk which was all down hill!) After a climb (literally!) on to the train, we arrived in Leuven and wasted no time in heading to the swimming pool.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the pool, heading straight for the flumes! Much excitement was had when the lifeguards said they would allow the use of the springboard for jumping into the pool – and much laughter at the scouts attempts to dive!
After a quickly demolished picnic lunch we headed to bowl kings for our bowling sessions.
We all split into teams and friendly competition immediately struck up over who would be best – needless to say we all need a lot more practice!
Our guide Rachel took us on a different route back to the station where we got to see some of the amazing features and buildings of Leuven.
We are all back at camp now and have had a delicious dinner of pasta bolognaise!
Tomorrow we head to Bruges for chocolate!
