4th Dronfield Scouts started their week at KISC on a high. Half of them headed to the trees for zip wiring, whilst the other half hiked up the mountains to a traditional cheesery. To ensure that everyone got to experience both activities, the next day the groups swapped! And whilst everyone agreed that the hike was challenging, it was also very rewarding
Afterwards, the group learned about the man that started it all in KISC’s Baden Powell workshop. Here, they got the chance to try activities and games that the original Scouts played over 100 years ago.
Finally, the group set off to hike up to Kandersteg’s mountain lake, leaving plenty of time for the Rodelbahn and a quick paddle before the hike down the following day.
It’s been a busy week for 4th Dronfield, but it’s not over yet! Switzerland celebrates 1st August – National Swiss and Scouting Day – which is always a significant event in the Swiss calendar and one that’s been celebrated since 1891. After the celebrations, the group will head to the capital, Bern.
We wonder if they’ll see the bears…
