Good news……your children are in one piece after surviving an afternoon on the adventure park in Reharti! The adrenalin fuelled junkies abseiled from a 80 ft bridge, threw themselves down 6 different zip wires across the 300ft valley, and traversed the high ropes at 70ft. There were some great feats of bravery, with a number of the girls demonstrating wonderful courage overcoming their fears of heights. Special mention should go to Carol for completing all activities although stories of her descent and landing after the abseiling should be reserved for another night! A sneak preview is offered below.
If only leaders could get the ‘clanger hat’!!
We had another first from one of the Cheam Guides ( & instructors)……as they deemed it more high risk to dispense with the pulley and descend the zip wire with just the carabena only to be left dangling above the middle of the valley some 60ft off the ground before the unique rescue mission (see below). A contender for the clanger hat maybe??
The tranquil setting of the panoramic Adelboden pool offered an opportunity for the guides to ‘cool down’ in the drizzle and the 12 degrees. Good to see competition isn’t lost on the guides, with numerous races run, whilst others blow dried their hair (even those that didn’t swim)!
After the challenges of awarding the ‘clangers hats’ tomorrow with so many contenders, we will be making our pilgrimage to ‘Our Chalet’, followed by a walk to the exhilarating water fall in Engstilgenstrasse (Grid Reference: GU1 D3s)
