After a few more long sunny tent pitching days, I have finally welcomed my first group 1st Stratford Upon Avon Scouts to KISC.

As their coach rolled into the car park eager faces peered out the windows and shortly after Scouts and luggage fell out of the coach! I’m not sure what the guys had packed but their bags were heavy. Let me know your tips for camp packing and I’ll pass them on!

Today was the groups first full day, and an early start for them as they joined in on the international flag break at eight thirty this morning. After a croissant breakfast we headed up on the gondola for a picnic lunch at lake Oeschinensee. Before we made it to the lake some of the scouts had found the shop and were already gorging on chocolate and crisps!

Caught in the shop already!
Caught in the shop already!

Eleanor’s proverb about the English bringing sunshine isn’t ringing true for us here as it has rained all day, which meant the guys couldn’t get on the toboggan run whilst they were up at the lake – hopefully we can squeeze in time during the week!

Tomorrow we are off to the chocolate and cheese factory, (as if they haven’t had enough chocolate already!) so check back for more pictures soon!

Oh, I almost forgot, 616 pegs used. You were all way out!
