The first part of our journey was the looooooooong bus ride. As we all had the great company of our friends to talk to, we were fine and also we took our bus bingo to entertain us for the journey – not so sure the Barnsley Explorers should be let loose at Gala, they were cut-throat rivals desperate to get their hands in the Bucket of Bounty!
When we arrived in Switzerland many of us were overcome by the beauty of the scenery around us.
Hello to 4th Cheam Guides and thank you for such a lovely welcome. Hope you all had a safe journey home.
We visited the panoramic swimming pool, where there were great views of the beautiful mountains as we swam. However, the weather was very mixed and we had to cut the swimming session short due to the thunder and lightening. On the walk back to the chalet we were very glad of our waterproofs…… If only we had all worn them……
Later we took the bus down into Adelboden to see the Swiss national day celebrations. We saw traditional dancing and the parade, which was followed by a wonderful firework display that we enjoyed as we headed home to the chalet for hot chocolate and our well deserved beds.
