This week the Swiss mountains are calling Girlguiding Ribble Valley Division, as they will be heading to Kandersteg International Scout Centre for a fun-filled snowy adventure.
Leader Harriet keeps us updated on their first full day in Switzerland.
What a day! We have had masses of fun on our first snow day. Groups A and B have been learning how to curl and been up the cable car to see the dramatically beautiful Oeschinensee. Snowball fights, snow angels and up to the waist snow were a lot of fun – just look at the size of the smiles!
Meanwhile Group C were learning to cross country ski, with games and fun along the way. The scenery is breathtaking, and we are delighted to have put gloves, snow boots, hats, thermals and buffs to the test against the elements.
We are enjoying all the international friends we are making too – KISC staff include Danish, Finnish, Italian and British to name just a few, along with all the other guests.
We’ve also taken advantage of the delicious local cake, ice cream and hot chocolate.
