Tour Highlights
- Visit to Tepoztlan - Surrounded by craggy mountains and overlooked by the Tepozteco pyramid, Tepoztlan has a well preserved historic centre and also retains indigenous traditions, making it quite unlike any other town in the vicinity of Mexico’s Capital. The town has a huge craft market and a host of charming restaurants, cafés and ice-cream parlours.
- Local Service project – a busy but highly rewarding day!
- Visit to Cuernavaca - The capital of Morelos, one of Mexico’s smallest states, has been known for centuries as the City of the Eternal Spring. At an altitude of 1542 metres, Cuernavaca boasts of a mild climate year-round that is highly suitable for the sub-tropical vegetation which abounds in the area. The city enjoys 365 days of sunshine. Our Cabaña is located on the outskirts of the city in a residential area.
- Visit to Taxco - The silver-mining town of Taxco is thought to be one of the oldest towns in the region and is certainly one of the most beautiful and picturesque places in Mexico. Clinging to a steep hillside, narrow winding cobbled streets lead you past ancient buildings and you will find yourself time and time again unwittingly stumbling across stunning plazas, lined with cafés, restaurants and of course silver shops.
- Visit to Sun and Moon Pyramids - The site of Teotihuacán has some of the most remarkable relics of an ancient civilization in the world, including the Pyramid of the Sun. The site is divided into three distinct areas of interest; at the southern end of the site is La Ciudadela, a large square dominated by the impressive Templo de Quetzalcóatl, the middle section consists of the Pirámide del Sol (Pyramid of the Sun), which is 64 metres high and at the northern end of the site lies the Pirámide de la Luna (Pyramid of the Moon).
