The 2010 Trefoil Guild AGM is to be held in the historic city of Preston. Venture Abroad has been offering special AGM weekend packages for members of the Trefoil Guild for nearly 15 years. For 2010, we are delighted to offer members a three night weekend break at a choice of quality hotels which are located both within a short distance of Preston and in the beautiful Lancashire countryside.
Combining the official business of the AGM with enjoyable evening entertainment and exciting local excursions, you are sure to have a memorable few days catching up with friends.
Discover Preston
Preston is England’s newest city, after being officially confirmed during the Queen’s Golden Jubilee visit during 2002. Originally an ancient market town, Preston is home to over 750 listed buildings, including the stunning St Walburge’s Church, the Harris Museum and Art Gallery, Preston Guild Hall and the Lancashire Museum. The town is bordered to the south by the tranquil River Ribble, whilst the east border opens out into the beautiful expanses and rolling landscapes of the Forest of Bowland. Also known as Bowland Fells, the area has been designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty by ‘Natural England’ on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government.
Itinerary
Friday 11th June 2010
Arrive in Preston by early evening. Your Venture Abroad representative will assist you in checking into your room. Relax and enjoy your evening meal.
Saturday 12th June 2010
Morning at leisure to explore Preston, including a wide variety of complimentary excursions, before attending the AGM in the afternoon at the Guildhall in Preston. Return to your hotel for your evening meal.
Sunday 13th June 2010
A special Centenary evenings entertainment will be arranged by the Venture Abroad team. Further details will be available soon.
Monday 14th June 2010
Depart from Preston in the morning for your return journey home or join the post AGM tour of the Lake District.

Lytham St Annes
Lytham St Annes is a haven of peace and tranquillity located on the Lancashire coastline. Visitors to St Annes can enjoy miles of unspoilt sandy beach, the beautifully restored Victorian Pier and the elegant parks and gardens. In addition the picturesque town of Lytham offers a number of shops and cafes for you to enjoy.
City of Lancaster
The historic city of Lancaster is a small, vibrant university city and rich in cultural heritage. Lancaster’s history can be traced back thousands of years and has so much to offer, from a visit to Lancaster Castle and one of the many museums where Lancaster’s past comes to life, to excellent shopping facilities.
Ribchester and Samlesbury Hall
Ribchester was once home to a Roman fort and today, the museum which is situated above the structural remains offers a fascinating historic insight into Roman life.
Just a short distance away from Ribchester is the splendid 14th Century Manor House, Samlesbury Hall. A half-day visit will allow you to discover an ancient, magnificently preserved manor house complete with beautiful Tudor gardens and a wildflower maze or visit the plant centre and miniature farm.

The Venture Abroad coach prices are based on a minimum of 25 passengers travelling on each coach. The coaches depart on Friday 11th June and return on Monday 14th June 2010 . We will endeavour to meet you at your preferred pick up point but this can only be guaranteed for groups of 4 people or more. Please indicate your preferred pick up point on the booking form.
The Swallow Hotel 3-star
The Swallow Hotel is set in the heart of the picturesque Lancashire countryside; within easy reach of the Lake District and Preston town centre.
