Scout Leader's Taster Trip

Are you looking to plan an international experience for your Troop in the future but need further inspiration and guidance?

Venture Abroad is delighted to announce that they are organising a leader’s familiarisation trip to De Kluis Scout Centre in Belgium and the Scout and Guide Castle Rieneck in Germany in February 2011. This trip is designed to give you a unique insight into how two of our most popular trips work and how you can experience these destinations in the future with your Scouts. You will discover for yourself the wide array of activities available in both resorts, be able to sample the food and see how the trip would work in reality.

Located on the edge of Meerdaal Forest in central Belgium, De Kluis will be your gateway to Belgium and beyond. Visit Europe in a morning at Mini-Europe, experience the thrill of Walibi Theme Park and make a splash at Oceade Water Park all on one tour. Bring out the adventurer in you and try your hand at indoor caving and climbing or take on a high ropes course. Whether it is an energetic activity packed break or a more relaxing tour discovering the sights, Belgium truly does have it all.

Castle Rieneck is steeped in history, a lot of which happened within the walls of the castle. The Castle has been owned by Association of Christian Scouts and Guides since 1967. The campsite lies directly under the Thick Tower of the Scout and Guide Castle Rieneck.  There are activities aplenty for groups in the town of Rieneck such as canoeing on the River Sinn, biking, hiking, horse riding, fishing, bowling, swimming and tennis.

You will be accompanied by a knowledgeable member of the Venture Abroad Team who will be available to provide all the answers you need to arrange your own trip.
