Experience a Scout camp with a difference! Situated approximately 60 miles south east of Frankfurt am Main, the Scout and Guide Castle Rieneck offers groups a fantastic camping holiday in the heart of Europe. Surrounded by picturesque and unspoiled countryside, Castle Rieneck is a perfect base for hiking and discovering rural Germany. Dating back to 1169, the castle retains its medieval feel and many of the activities at the castle have their roots in this period. Take part in a knights’ tournament, learn how to construct a catapult or try your hand at the traditional game of Tafl, all within the castle walls.

The Scout Castle Rieneck runs an exciting programme of activities and adventures that you can book directly through the centre. The programme allows groups to discover the castle and its fascinating surroundings as well as participate in exciting activities such as the high rope course or a canoe tour.
Prices are based on a self-catering option.
Full board option: the centre offers an excellent full board option which includes three good meals per day and gives greater flexibility when planning your activities.

Venture Abroad provides the tents for your stay and these will be set up on the campsite within the castle’s grounds. There are modern wash-house facilities and a fire place with a large campsite circle. Cooking equipment will be provided for your stay; all you need to bring is personal crockery, cutlery and sleeping bags/pillows.
