Venture Abroad "Green Scene"
We are all aware of the ever present and current issues surrounding our planet, we have all heard phrases such as "carbon footprint" and "global warming" and you may also be aware that there is evidence that travel has had a significant effect on these issues.
Therefore, at Venture Abroad, we have taken some steps to ensure that we are helping the environment and reducing the effects of these issues, see below some of the simple steps that we have taken as a company to help make a difference and save our planet, allowing us to ensure that we can continue to offer the opportunity to travel and explore our world for years to come!
We have a Recycling Team based in our office and we ensure that all of our office waste is recycled.
We offer our staff the opportunity to opt into our "Bike to Work Scheme" helping to reduce the number of cars on the road.
At Venture Abroad we are aware that it is the small steps that we all make together that will help to reduce the effects of global warming and damage to our environment, however we also respect that these decisions are personal and therefore we offer our clients options:
Paper or Virtual
The majority of our paperwork, information and documents are now available in electronic format helping to save time and paper.
Road or Air Travel
At Venture Abroad we offer both air and coach tours to a number of destinations, opting to travel by coach can be more cost effective and friendlier to the environment.
Reducing Your Carbon Footprint
What is a Carbon Footprint?
A carbon footprint is a measure of the impact our activities have on the environment, and in particular climate change. It relates to the amount of greenhouse gases produced in our day-to-day lives through burning fossil fuels for electricity, heating and transportation etc.
The carbon footprint is a measurement of all greenhouse gases we individually produce and has units of tonnes (or kg) of carbon dioxide equivalent.
Calculating Carbon Footprints
At Venture Abroad we would like to show you how easy it is to continue to enjoy travelling and exploring our world and still be able to contribute to reducing our Carbon Footprint.
We have put together below an example of the CO2 footprints of some of our flight tour routes, based on travelling from London:

Can We Tour and Help The Environment?
Yes... by off-setting your carbon footprint.
Carbon offsetting allows you to compensate for emissions by helping to fund projects that allow CO2 to be delivered elsewhere. By making a contribution to an offsetting scheme you are helping to balance out the impact of your travel.
Why not look at ways to fund raise and encourage your groups to offset, perhaps your group could collect any spare Euros/currency from your tour to raise funds to enable you to travel in the knowledge that you have given something back to the planet.
By thinking of our planet today you will be helping to ensure that we have a planet to tour again in the future!
