Take a once in a lifetime tour through the states of California, Arizona, Utah and Nevada. It includes both an awe inspiring visit to the rim of the Grand Canyon as well as the chance to experience the showtime atmosphere of Las Vegas. You will see the drama of Bryce Canyon, the charm of Carmel and Monterey, the Golden Gate Bridge and the famous Hollywood sign in Los Angeles. Pass by the celebrity villas of Beverly Hills and the swimming pools of the rich in Palm Springs. This trip is sure to leave you with a series of unforgettable memories that will live with you forever.
Girl Scouts of the USA
The highlight of this tour for many will be meeting with members of Girl Scouting of the USA and the opportunity to be led by a representative of the movement in renewing your Guiding promise in a surprise location during your tour. In 2010 some Trefoil Guild members renewed their promise whilst on a Mediterranean cruise with VA and they found it an extremely special and uplifting occasion.

Itinerary
Day 1
Fly from the UK to Los Angeles and travel via shuttle bus to the hotel where you will meet your Tour Escort. This will be a great opportunity to get to know your fellow travellers and your tour escort.

Day 2
Travel south through San Juan Capistrano and San Clemente to San Diego. Following a city tour, visit picturesque Seaport Village, San Diego’s relaxing bay-front marketplace. After a day exploring San Diego return to Los Angeles in late afternoon and spend the evening relaxing.Hotel: Sheraton LAX Airport Hotel or similar
Day 3
Leave Los Angeles behind and travel towards the rugged San Jacinto Mountains and Palm Springs. After spending some time soaking up the sights of Palm Springs, continue across the desert to Arizona’s State Capital, Phoenix

Day 4
Travel through the Sonoran Desert to Sedona and see the spectacular red rock scenery. Drive through the breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon to the Grand Canyon National Park. Before settling in for the evening,visit lookout points along the South Rim to fully experience this mile-deep canyon.

Day 5
Watch the sunrise and enjoy a special (optional) breakfast served right at the rim of the Canyon. Journey further and enter the Navajo Indian Reservation, passing the trading post of Cameron, through the Painted Desert to tour Monument Valley. In * Please note that the route over the Sierra Nevada Mountains is dependent upon the weather and the road being open.the afternoon, enter the town of Page to visit the mighty Glen Canyon Dam to enjoy views of stunning Lake Powell.

Day 6
Enter the Mormon state of Utah, passing through the town of Kanab before visiting spectacular Bryce Canyon, followed by an evening at leisure.

Day 7
Travel to and explore Zion National Park, before continuing on to Las Vegas, the dazzling “Entertainment Capital of the World.”

Day 8
Spend the day enjoying the many attractions that Las Vegas has to offer - world-class shopping, bustling casinos, Broadway-style shows, and the amazing sights of the Strip.

Day 9
In sharp contrast to Las Vegas enter the quiet and extreme environment of Death Valley. Stop at Zabriskie Point and Furnace Creek Ranch before continuing across the valley and ascending the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the alpine resort town of Mammoth Lakes*.

Day 10
Take a short drive over the Tioga Pass* high in the Sierras into the scenic wonderland of Yosemite National Park. Within the park, see the majestic, glacial shaped granite formations of El Capitan and Half Dome.

Day 11
Depart in the early morning, crossing the Oakland Bay Bridge to arrive in San Francisco and commence a sightseeing tour. In the evening there will be an opportunity to take a memorable City by Night Tour (optional).

Day 12
Spend the day at leisure in San Francisco. Your Tour escort is on hand to assist with making your plans for the day – perhaps a cable car ride to Fisherman’s Wharf, a stroll and some shopping around Union Square, or a wine tasting tour to Napa Valley.

Day 13
Depart San Francisco for the drive to the Monterey Peninsula to visit Fisherman’s Wharf and famous Cannery Row, before touring charming Carmel-by-the-Sea. In the afternoon continue to drive south through Paso Robles, home of the cowboys and wineries, and San Luis Obispo.

Day 14
Visit the sandy beaches of Santa Barbara and soak up the Spanish heritage and architecture before returning to Los Angeles in the afternoon to take a comprehensive sightseeing tour through the “City of Angels,” including Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and Venice.

Day 15
Begin your journey home to the UK arriving in the UK on Day 16.
