The 2012 Trefoil Guild Annual Meeting is to be held in Wales’ Capital City, Cardiff. Venture Abroad will be celebrating its 16th year of offering special Annual Meeting weekend packages for members of the Trefoil Guild and we are also proud to be the preferred supplier of the Executive Committee for 2012!
We are delighted to offer members a three night weekend break at a choice of quality hotels, allowing you to combine the official business of the AM with enjoyable evening entertainment and exciting local excursions.
Discover Cardiff
Proud of its history, culture and language, Cardiff is fast becoming a prime choice for people who are looking for a destination that offers plenty of things to see and do. Explore its 2000 years of history starting with the castle or the cathedral, take some time to do some shopping in one of the charming Edwardian and Victorian arcades or watch the hustle and bustle of the city go by as you enjoy some relaxing time in one of the many cafes.
Itinerary
Friday 15th June 2012
Arrive in Cardiff by early evening. Your Venture Abroad representative will assist you in checking into your room before you spend time relaxing and enjoying your evening meal.
Saturday 16th June 2012
Spend a morning at leisure to explore Cardiff before attending the Annual Meeting in the afternoon at St David’s Hall.You will return to your hotel for your evening meal.
Sunday 17th June 2012
You will embark on your chosen day excursion* from the list adjacent. After arriving back at the hotel, evening entertainment* will be arranged by Venture Abroad.
Monday 18th June 2012
Depart from Cardiff in the morning for your return journey home or join the post-Annual Meeting tour of Pembrokeshire or Broneirion.

The National Botanic Garden of Wales
The garden opened in May 2000 and over the last decade has become the most visited garden in Wales – named the “number one garden in Wales” by Gardeners’ World 2010 poll. The garden is home to 8000 different plant varieties and spreads across 560 acres of beautiful countryside making it the perfect day excursions for those looking to get away from the hustle and bustle of Cardiff.
Brecon Mountain Railway
You can travel on one of the most popular railways in Wales. Coaches are towed by a vintage steam locomotive through beautiful scenery into the Brecon Beacons National Park, along the full length of the Taf Fechan Reservoir to Dol-y-Gaer. At Pontsticill you can alight from the train and visit the café, admire the view across the water to the peaks of the Brecon Beacons or go for a ramble alongside the reservoir before returning to the train for a return journey.
Cardiff Castle
A visit to the castle can help you discover 2000 years of Cardiff’s history right in the heart of the city. Take an audio guide of the castle grounds and Norman keep, explore the magnificent walkways and the wartime tunnels before returning to the café where you can enjoy panoramic views of the grounds.

The Venture Abroad coach prices will be based on a minimum of 25 passengers travelling on each coach. The coaches depart on Friday 15th June and return on Monday 18th June 2012. We will endeavour to meet you at your preferred pick up point but this can only be guaranteed for groups of 4 people or more. Please indicate your preferred pick up point on the booking form.

This is the perfect hotel for those looking to experience a little bit of luxury for the weekend. The Hilton Cardiff is a 5-star hotel situated in the heart of the city centre opposite Cardiff Castle and St Davids Hall, the venue for the Trefoil Guild Annual Meeting, is just a very short stroll away.
The Award Winning Razzi Restaurant is situated on the ground floor, along side the Metropole Lounge and opposite the Steam Bar, of which there are only two throughout the United Kingdom. Guests of the hotel are also welcome to use the LivingWell Health Club facilities on the 2nd floor of the hotel, including a 20m swimming pool. Guests will be accommodated on a half board basis.
The Legacy Cardiff International
With Cardiff city centre 5 miles from the hotel, the Legacy International is a retreat from city life and offers guests a different glimpse of the Welsh capital. Facilities include a large comfortable lounge area and a restaurant. All bedrooms have 1 or 2 single beds, en suite facilities, hair dryer, freeview colour television and coffee/tea making facilities plus a car park is available. Prices are per paying passenger based on 2 people sharing a twin room. Single room supplement applies.

Situated in the centre of Cardiff, this hotel is perfect for excursions both by foot and by road. This hotel is comfortable and close to attractions such as the Millennium Stadium and Cardiff Castle. The Novotel, Cardiff
The 4* Novotel Cardiff Central is perfectly situated to explore the heart of Cardiff. Every bedroom has en suite facilities, with a bath or shower, satellite television, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryer, iron and safe. Accessible rooms are available upon request and there is a lift in the hotel. Elements Restaurant and Bar offers a wide range of international dishes. The hotel also has an indoor heated pool and fitness centre.
